Inflection expands its Australian copper-gold portfolio into South Australia. The Fortitude Project introduces a new 100%-owned, royalty-free exploration position covering approximately 2,660 km², complementing the Company’s existing copper-gold projects in New South Wales and the Endurance Project IOCG portfolio in the Northern Territory…
Beyond the Headline
Inflection announced that addition of the Fortitude Project, a 2,660-km², 100%-owned and royalty-free exploration licenses in South Australia Gawler Craton (Figure 9-1). The portfolio includes seven high priority undrilled targets, six prospective for IOCG/ISCG copper-gold and iron sulphide copper gold (ISCG) plus one separate intrusion-related gold target (Figure 9-2).
The targets were generated by a highly experienced IOCG discovery team and are supported by multiple geological and geophysical indicators. Inflection has combined structure, gravity, magnetics and interpreted geological architecture to identify areas where a large mineralized system may occur.
The targets were developed using a mineral-systems approach led by Douglas Haynes, whose career includes contributions to Olympic Dam and several other major mineral discoveries, adding an experienced discovery-driven approach to Inflection’s exploration pipeline.
Comments
The Fortitude Project marks Inflection’s entry into South Australia and adds a large, 100%-owned copper-gold property to their existing portfolio in New South Wales and the Northern Territory. Being within the broader Olympic Dam IOCG province obviously provides enormous prize potential, but concealed IOCG exploration is notoriously difficult. Their next step is to systematically refine and rank the targets with geophysics and 3D modelling before advancing the strongest opportunities to drilling. While early stage, Fortitude will be an interesting project to follow especially once drilling commences.
