The third and final batch of samples has been sent to the ALS preparation lab in Elko, Nevada. Due to intense potassic alteration and silicification of the rock encountered in this hole, the core was exceptionally hard and required considerable patience and multiple diamond saw blades to split…

Beyond the Headline

BCM reports that cutting and sampling of strongly mineralized porphyry/skarn core from TK20 has been completed with all samples sent to ALS preparation in Elko, Nevada.  The press release highlights visual geological descriptions only with assays pending.

Hole TK-20 is reported to have intense potassic alteration and silicification with intervals containing quartz-molybdenum porphyry mineralization and magnetite-chalcopyrite skarn. One illustrated porphyry interval is estimated at ~10% sulphides, principally molybdenite, while a skarn breccia interval is estimated at ~20% sulphides, mainly chalcopyrite.

TK20 is an important drill hole given its proximity to TK8 that returned 155.4 m @ 0.66% Cu, 0.12 g/t Au & 7.4 g/t Ag.  If the long visually mineralized interval  reported in TK-20 carries comparable grades this would make Thompson Knolls a significant porphyry-skarn discovery.
