Beyond the Headline

Barksdale on July 27, 2026, announced that it has exceeded the required 25,000 ft. (7,620m) drill requirement stipulated in the Company’s joint venture agreement with Great Basin Metals (“GBM”, formerly Regal Resources), paving the way for the Company to increase its ownership in the property to 67.5%.

They also released results of four (4) overlimit assays from hole SUN26-013R which were not included in the 615ft. to 870ft. (187.5m to 265.2m) interval reported in the July 20, 2026 press release.  This changed the reported results from 0.255% Cu and 1.96 g/t Ag over 77.72m to 0.47%Cu and 1.24 g/t Ag over 65.53m.  The included interval of 1.93% Cu and 1.96 g/t Ag over 7.62m remained unchanged.

The Company geologists believe the results from the drill hole SUN26-013R are consistent with those that were obtained in holes SUN26-001R, -002R and -003R (Press release dated May 04, 2026). These four holes, taken together, are considered to connect a large zone of copper lode vein mineralization that is continuous over greater than 600m of strike and continues to depths of up to 1,000m. The working hypothesis of Barksdale is that the copper lode veins follow a northwest-southeast structural trend that controls their distribution, and that they are proximally sourced from a much larger porphyry Copper-Molybdenum (Cu-Mo) mineral deposit.

Comments

Assay results from the last holes reported were low grade.  I would prefer if holes were not released until all overlimits are received, as these can have a significant impact on weighted average results.  Completion of the required 25,000 ft. drill program to earn 67.5% is a positive step forward, but they are wise to step back and fully analyze the drill results as well as do additional geophysical work to outline new drill targets.  I would prefer to see them do diamond drilling to facilitate structural analysis, as well as do downhole geophysical surveys, especially IP, to expand the radius of influence of the drill holes to help define targets.
